How I started:
Before Pinterest existed, I was constantly surfing the web saving fashion photos/pictures I liked in hundreds of folders on my computer. Finally, the day I discovered Pinterest I immediately signed up and waited patiently for my invitation to join the platform during its Beta phase.
I fell in love with Pinterest from day one. I started creating pins for brands because I wanted to have a cute curated board.
In 2015, while studying ‘Fashion Marketing and Communication’ I found out that Pinterest had a version for businesses and signed up for it with a blog. I mostly learned from practice, looking at analytics, reading, and seeing what was working and what was not. I took several courses when things got serious. Still, I think of myself as a self-learner for the most part and this has worked wonderfully both for me and my clients; it remains the best possible way to keep learning which works best for each particular client and time.
In October 2015, I got my first Pinterest client. It was a fashion website that needed a ton of boards with perfectly curated content matching the website’s identity. In 2016, I started to get more clients, this led me to leave my full-time work and left for Australia ‘to do some farm work’. Luckily that didn’t happen, my Pinterest client base didn’t stop growing from then on and I was able to make a living in Australia while growing in what was now my dream job.
The main source of clients for me is and always has been referrals: clients that are happy with my work and recommend me, or people who ask my clients about their Pinterest managers.
I’ve been a TOP RATED PLUS Freelancer on UPWORK since 2016. Right now I’m managing 15+ Pinterest Accounts. I’m part of The Pinterest Creators US Community, these are the best sources to be always up-to-date with the latest changes and trends reports.
